Xeriscaping

Xeriscaping is gardening or landscaping in a style which requires little or no irrigation. We live in a climate of wet winters and dry summers. Water is becoming scarce in summer and has to be managed. Heaviest water use is in summer when it is least available. Consider drought tolerant plants for your garden.

All plants require water! Drought tolerant plants must be watered the first year to become established and drought resistant. Design a system that does not waste water. Volume and length of watering depends on the soil type. Water deeply and not frequently to conserve water.
